In 2016, medical device manufacturing company Stryker announced the launch of a 3D printed spinal implant, as well as a planned 3D printing manufacturing facility which was followed by launch of 3D printed Tritanium posterior lumbar (PL) cage spinal implant which is to be used in Cervical Spine. The Spinal Implant has now received the 510(k) clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
