Penelope Heller was diagnosed in 2014 with chondrosarcoma, a rare type of cancer of bones and joints. She underwent a 3D Printed Sternum Implant Surgery when her own normal implant didn’t work out well. The newer 3D Printed Sternum Implant gave her much recovery with full range of motion, however, a special approval from US FDA was put forward before the surgery was done.
