For two graduate students at Grand Valley State University, named Joseph Kissling and Samuel Brooks Schaefer, 3D printing not only was a means to complete an assignment for their medical device design course, but it was also a way in which they could make a huge difference in the life of a little girl named Lylah.

Alex Czech has released files for his expanded hand project, now a full 3D printed exoskeleton arm.  The creator says he is now one step closer to the exoskeleton suit worn by Matt Damon’s character in the science fiction film Elysium.

Lehigh University's Mountaintop Summer Program brought together students to work on the development of "Spiderhand" exoskeleton devices to assist with physical rehabilitation.

Magic Arms has now delivered more than 100 3D printed orthotic devices for children with 150 more on the waiting list out of 500,000 kids who might benefit.
